My daughter Csenge's birth in 100 pictures - part 3
(labor is getting intense)I decided to call another friend who was to join us to take photos and the babysitter for the case Levente would wake up, because I knew this was about the last time I could still talk. At 5.15 AM our midwife arrived. She came in, squatted near the pool and I took her hand. I always knew she had a strong aura, but the effect her appearance made on the progress of my labor was incredible. In the moment she came in, the strongest contraction ever hit and my bag of waters exploded, at least that was what it felt like. 3 more powerful contractions followed, without any break between them! Up to this point I thought I was maybe 6-7 cm dilated, but the last 4 contractions did all the rest of the job. I asked the midwife to check me, since I started to feel pushy, but also felt some of my cervix still in the way. She was reluctant to check me, as she said she knew I was very near the end, but I insisted, for fear I would tear my cervix. She was right: I was almost complete. I asked Zoltan to get into the pool, reminded the midwife that Zoltan was to catch the baby and that they should leave her underwater for some time, if possible.
With what I thought was "my last breath", I'm calling the rest of the crew
I'm not in my best mood...GRRR I hate when it hurts like this...
I definitely couldn't do this without the buoyancy of the water! Floating on my belly and relaxing
Clutching the midwife's hand instead of greeting. I can't talk right now!
Such little things can mean a whole lot, don't they?
The hardest part is nearing. It's so good to have Zoltan close.
Transition
On my request, Ági checks dilation
Zoltan is getting ready for catching...
