My daughter Csenge's birth in 100 pictures - part 2
(the last hour of labor)

I had hoped the water would relax me and take away some of the pain, but what it did was speed things up! I had much stronger and more effective contractions, but also more time between them, which was a big help. I was on my hands and knees, like I used to be when my son was born, but this time it was much easier, since the water gave me weightlessness and freedom of movement.

Who would think this is the last hour of labor? Amazing how I can still take it so easy. Those breaks between contractions are heavenly!

Contractions are so intense now that I need to relax completely between them.

I let the warm water gently massage my belly.

Oh, this was a big mistake! I stayed on my back and here comes the next contraction. Big OUCH!!! Notice how this powerful contraction is changing the shape of my belly: the top gets literally hollow as it is pulled downward.

Finally it's over, so I can quickly turn into a better position.

Leaning on the swing-like thingie that Zoltan made for me. It was meant to be a squat bar, but as I had no desire to squat, I used it like this.

I ask Zoltan to splash water on my lower back. It feels GOOD!
